The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is a global nonprofit organization, established in 1896, devoted to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards.

Project Lifesaver was created to help find those that tend to wander due to some type of disorder,
such as Alzheimer’s, autism, down syndrome, etc. The recipient wears a transmitter that gives
off a signal so if the person was to wander off, they would be found in less time (minutes versus
hours), by using the Project Lifesaver bracelet the worn by the person. The battery is changed
monthly by a trained professional and each recipient’s caregiver gets a transmitter tester to test
the bracelet daily to make sure it is working.
