Due to COVID-19 the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department is making a few changes to the presentation of our Annual Christmas Parade. We will still be inviting members of the community to register to setup floats or Christmas Trees, but the format will be a “reverse” parade. Floats will be set up along a pre-determined route for guests to drive through and view. The parade will be at the Ann L. Durham Lake Reba Recreational Complex on December 4th. Please click HERE to register. If you have any issues registering please email email@example.com or call 859-623-8753.
Santa Letters applications will open November 1st! If you would like to sign up to receive a letter from Santa this please click HERE. You will need to click on the Register for Activities link and sign into your account or create one to register for the letters.
We will also be making a few changes to the Santa Express. Instead of visiting individual homes Santa will be driving through different neighborhoods between Dec 14th-15th to visit all the good boys and girls of Richmond. You DO NOT need to register for this event. Please stay tuned for more info about where Santa will be going and when!
If you have any questions about either program please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 859-623-8753.
“The park should, as far as possible, complement the town. Openness is the one thing you cannot get in buildings . . . the beauty of the park should be the other. It should be the beauty of the fields, the meadow, the prairie, of the green pastures, and the still waters. What we want to gain is tranquility and rest to the mind."
Frederick Law Olmsted, “Public Parks and the Enlargement of Towns” February 25, 1870
