Event Details

Last year Richmond Parks and Recreation hosted their first-ever KiteFest. Due to the interest and excitement about that event, we have decided to bring it back! This year's KiteFest will be in collaboration for Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 21st from 11AM-2PM at Ann L. Durham Lake Reba Recreational Complex beginning at Paradise Cove Aquatic Center and ending at near the inclusive playground area.  All ages are welcome to attend!

What is Kids to Parks Day?
National Kids to Parks Day is designed and intended to connect kids to the experiences found in our parks. To find out more information CLICK HERE!

Event Activities

  • Kite making and decorating. You can fly your kites on our Softball Fields.  Feel free to bring your own kites!
  • Bike Rodeo
  • Disc Golf with the MadCo Disc Golf Club
  • Softball with the Richmond Fastpitch Club
  • Baseball game/fall info with the Richmond Little League
  • Basketball with Lifehouse Church
  • Storytelling by the Madison County Public Library
  • Obstacle Courses
  • Nature Art
  • Animal Identifying
  • After visiting each station, participants will then make their way back to Paradise Cove to receive a FREE shaved ice from Kona Ice & some other goodies!
