  1. Cooking Class for Teens

    We're happy to partner with the Madison County Extension Office to offer a free cooking class for Middle & High School students. This program will meet at the Richmond Teen Center from 3:30pm-5:00pm on the following dates: September 7th, September 21st, October 12th, October 19th, November 2nd, November 16th & November 30th. Participants will learn basic cooking skills, recipes & safety. Students from Caudill & Central can ride the bus to the facility with a parent's note sent to their school. We will also have free play on Thursdays from 3pm-6pm. These family friendly events start on Saturday, September 23rd with a Monarch Fall Migration Tagging from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Taylor Fork Ecological Area (located at 1 Hancock Taylor Ln).   4. The History of Mills in Madison County Exhibit Opening Reception

    The Irvinton House Museum will be showing "The History of Mills in Madison County", a temporary exhibit, from September 27th - October 27th, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM! The opening reception will be on Tuesday, September 26th from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM during our last Tasty Tuesday of the 2023 season. We are so excited to showcase even a portion of this rich history that has inspired things like Millstone Festival and our very own Millstone Park.     MCPL Outreach is proud to partner with Richmond Parks and Recreation to bring you a night to celebrate the heroes that inspire us! The public is invited to join in the heroic action beginning at 6:00 p.m. Some of our favorite superheroes will be in attendance such as Spider-Man, Spider-Girl, Captain America, & more! We will honor our real-world heroes as well, and joining us will be representatives from the Richmond Police Department, Richmond Fire Department, Madison County CSEPP office, Richmond 911 services, Baptist Health doctors and nurses, Madison County Sheriff's office, & more! Food trucks will be on-site, as well as fun superhero-themed activities for families and children. Don't forget to stay for a showing of Marvel's smash summer hit "Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3" beginning at dusk.
