You need a building permit for all construction that involves the construction, repair, movement to another site, removal, or demolition of any building or structure. All electrical, plumbing and mechanical work needs a separate permit for each trade. The price of the permit is calculated using the cost of the construction. The Police Record's Unit does not fax or email copies of any police reports, including Accident Reports. There is a 10 cent charge for copies of each page of reports.
An authorized person may obtain a copy of their report from the Richmond Police Department - Police Records Unit by various methods: In person, Online and U.S. Mail.
You may obtain a copy of your reports (OPEN RECORDS REQUEST OR ACCIDENT REPORT) by visiting the Richmond Police Department (1721 Lexington Road) between the hours of 7 am - 5 pm. Monday through Friday (closed on Weekends and Holidays).
