MCM2 - Public Participation & Involvement
Public participation and involvement is the second minimum control measure (MCM) required by the EPA and Kentucky Division of Water. The City of Richmond would like to give the public the ability to play an active roll in the development and implementation of activities in Richmond.
Why is Public Participation and Involvement beneficial?
The City of Richmond feels Public Participation and Involvement leads to better citizen support for our Stormwater Management Program. This allows citizens to be involved and volunteer to the degree that they would like. Building a network of citizens allows cross-communication between groups to allow better communication and understanding of implementation.
How does the City of Richmond meet these responsibilities?
The City of Richmond works with other organizations to facilitate activities, such as Bluegrass Greensource, Madison County Public Library, Madison County Solid Waste and departments within the city.
