“The park should, as far as possible, complement the town. Openness is the one thing you cannot get in buildings . . . the beauty of the park should be the other. It should be the beauty of the fields, the meadow, the prairie, of the green pastures, and the still waters. What we want to gain is tranquility and rest to the mind."
Frederick Law Olmsted, “Public Parks and the Enlargement of Towns” February 25, 1870

Lake Reba Playground Under Construction

The Lake Reba playground will be closed for the immediate future as we are working on installing a new and improved play area that will be inclusive to children of all ages and abilities. We are always striving to make our parks more welcoming to individuals from all walks of life and want them to be a place where we can all come together and interact as a community. We are anticipating construction to be completed late Summer 2020 and ready for play then. But we do need to work with the weather so there may be delays. As the project gets closer to completion we will announce when our grand opening will be. If you have any questions about the new playground please email parksandrec@richmond.ky.us.
