Programs Summer Day Camp Swim Lessons Richmond Teen Center Therapeutic Recreation / Special Olympics Special Events Easter Eggstravaganza Each year on the Saturday before Easter Sunday at Lake Reba Park. We have Egg Hunts, Petting Zoo and Free Activities for kids ages 10 and under. Summer Concerts Occurs each year from April to September in Downtown Richmond. Free Live Concert for all ages! Food trucks & vendors often show up. Free Kids Fishing Derby Each year on first Saturday of June (weather permitting) at Lake Reba Boat Dock. Free fishing for kids ages 10 and under. Prizes and free activities. 4th of July Celebration Every July 4th at Lake Reba Park. Parade, Food & Craft Vendors, Live Music, Free Activities for the kids, and Firework Display after dark. Movies in the Park The Richmond Parks and Recreation department hosts free movies for the public multiple times a year. Co-Sponsored with the Madison County Public Library. Kidsfest Richmond Each year in early September at Irvine McDowell Park. Stage acts, inflatables, games & prizes, crafts, face painting, petting zoo, pony rides, hamster balls & more. Halloween Hoe Down On Thursday the week of Halloween, 6-8pm in Downtown Richmond. Games, inflatables, laser tag, petting zoo, photo booths, pumpkin painting, costume contests and more! Christmas Parade The First Friday of December runs from EKU Campus to Downtown Richmond, reaching Main Street by 7pm. Local school bands, local organization and business floats, and Santa all participate. Food & Craft Vendors. Holiday Happening Craft Show First Saturday of December from 9am to 2pm at the Richmond City Hall lobby. Features handmade crafts by local artisans, food & baked goods from local farms and food producers. Visit Santa from 11am to 1pm. Santa Programs Visit with Santa at Irvinton House Museum on 2nd & 3rd Saturdays of December for $5/child. Santa Letters: have your child receive a letter from Santa for $5/child. Registration Deadline for each is December 8th. Special Olympics Year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. 1,400+ athletes will meet at EKU in Richmond for the 2018 State Summer Games June 1-3.
